Team Sessions

Frank Van Oss holds a certificate obtained after a one-year intensive course at the School Voor Coaching (SVC) in Leiden, in South Holland. The Leiden School’s philosophy of sytemic coaching grew from the observation of tension and conflict in teams that invariably arise from relationships between individuals and not from contested issues per se. This means that a systemic coach would examine characteristics of a team, idiosyncrasies that influence the communication patterns and key relationships inside a team.

While that approach may appear technical, it is fully focused on what actually happens inside a group. It examines the various relationships; in fact, it takes a hard and detailed look at who does not render support to whom at the work place, who gets along, what the crippling issues in the group are and, finally, how group members can be made to test potential solutions.

It is a fascinating methodology, which can transpose theoretical principles into piecemeal action that is firmly anchored in real-life scenarios.
